Rev. Joshua Turpin taught our fifth Sunday joint Sunday School session and preached his first sermon on November 30, 2025. The Message: Unprecedented, on Luke 1:26-38. Pastor Turpin lit our first Advent candle of Hope.   Our interim pastor, Dr. Lawrence Harper, preached his final sermon for us on November 23, 2025. Thank you so much to Dr. Harper for his steady hand during this transition period. Thank you also to Rev. Lee Colbert for all his help and guidance.   The children made Christmas decorations for donations to cover the cost of a trip to Camp Caraway.  On November 26, Sarah led a holiday baking class for the children. They enjoyed baking pumpkin and apple pies and enjoyed eating them even more! The youth collected 11 large bags and boxes of supplies to the Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill. Thanks to all who donated supplies and food items. They also cooked bake spaghetti to feed around 55 people, salad, and Sarah's homemade bread. They packaged 40 boxes and left the rest for the residents to enjoy later. After leaving Chapel Hill they delivered a large pan of Spaghetti to the hospice house in Smithfield.   We packed 181 shoeboxes at the event and 207 boxes total. Thank you to all who donated items or came to our annual "packing party!" We had 13 attend the Mother-Daughter Weekend at Camp Mundo Vista! Our GAs, Acteens and their mom's had a wonderful time! Homecoming Sunday was held on November 2. Dr. Lawrence Harper delivered the message. The church met in the fellowship hall for the homecoming meal. A special thank you to the hospitality team for a wonderful lunch.   Children’s Church kids packed 5 shoeboxes on November 2. We watched a video from Samaritan Purse on Operation Christmas Child and said a prayer over each box. We wrote a note about ourselves to the child receiving the box. What a Blessing for us today!   |
