Our Lib Canaday circle leaders took welcome baskets to some new families in town and invited them to services. All covid protocols were observed.
Jami Champagne and the youth group helped teach our preschoolers the Christmas story. Santa's sleigh was in the shop this weekend, but he borrowed a classic from his pal Ron Sloan to see some special kids in Four Oaks. He brought wonderful weather with him, so that we could hang out outside and soak in the Christmas lights. Thanks to all our Four Oaks elves who made it possible, and for all our parents who helped keep us safe and socially distant. Santa really missed reading the Christmas story this year, but hopes to send out a special message of good tidings and great joy on Christmas Eve before he takes off to deliver gifts, so everybody be sure to tune in. Merry Christmas everyone. Thank you to all who helped pack our Operation Christmas Child boxes, and to Don Rogers and Pastor John Norman for loading and delivering them.
From Claude Buzzard: Just wanted to add my congratulations to my sister Marilyn Parker for being honored as “woman of the year." She is certainly a deserving person to be recognized. She is always willing to serve the Church, her family and friends and strangers alike. Love her and her family. To that, all of First Baptist Four Oaks adds endless thanks and love for Marilyn's tireless work in our food pantry, for our Relay for Life team, in our church office, and the countless other kindnesses she performs on a daily basis.
