The FBC Four Oaks Relay for Life Team raised over $5,000 for cancer research in their silent auction on Saturday, May 9. Thank you to Marilyn, Jack, Melissa, Judy, and Kay for organizing the auction and representing FBC at Relay for Life. This year, the WMU recognized Nancy Evans, Angie Halverson, Peggy Hockaday, Janie Holloway, and Janet Martin. Rebecca Lindout of WMU-NC delivered the message. The GAs and Acteens assisted in worship. Thank you to Laura Rogers, Brenda Barnes, and all the WMU for the service and the luncheon following.
On February 9, the Baptist Men took down a metal ramp and cleaned the back yard of the parsonage. On February 16th, the Baptist Men moved another metal ramp.
WMU/Women's Ministry collected items for Johnston County Hospice patients. Judy, Missions for Christ Missions Group, Michelle and Cheryl, UNC Johnston County Home Health & Hospice Nurses, Laura, Director of WMU/ Women's Ministry and Brenda, Assistant Director, WMU/ Women's Ministry.
On December 31, during the worship service, we honored Annette Langdon for forty years of service as our organist and pianist.
We held our annual Christmas Eve service on Sunday, December 24, at 6. Rev. Lee Colbert led us and served communion. The preschool provided luminaries on the doorway and sidewalks in front of the church. A special thank you to all who read and performed.
