Hurricane Florence flooded the Baptist Children's Home, also known as the Kennedy Home, on September 14th. On November 10th, a group from First Baptist Four Oaks traveled to Kinston to help clean out the Children's Home. This is the second time the Baptist Children's Home of Kinston has been flooded in the last three years. The Kennedy Center sustained $1.5 million in damages from Hurricane Michael. They evacuated four campuses due to Florence flooding. The Baptist Children's Home of Thomasville and other locations continue to house those displaced by the flooding, which included children and teens. Over 300 volunteers from NC churches helped with clean up and repair on Saturday. There will be another 'Friends of Children' Saturday project for clean-up and repair in Kinston on December 8th.
