Family we lost in 2020: Othal Minshew

Mr. Othal Minshew, age 82, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 28, 2020 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. He was born on December 30, 1937 in Wayne County to Rev. Hilery Marshall and Sally Ann Whaley Minshew.  In June of 1968, Minshew Funeral Home began business on Railroad Street in Four Oaks and in October 1976 moved to it's Highway 301 location. In July of 2012, Mr. Minshew retired after 45 years of service to the families of the Four Oaks Community.  He was a charter member of the Four Oaks Rescue Squad, a member of First Baptist Church of Four Oaks, and also a National Guard Veteran. Surviving include his daughter, Kim M. Robertson and husband, Johnnie of Four Oaks; son, Anthony Minshew and wife, Gretta of Raleigh; grandchildren, John Ross Robertson and wife, Shelby of Four Oaks;  Andrew Othal Minshew, and Abby Elizabeth Minshew both of Raleigh; sister, Linda Sue Toler of Kenly; brother, Hilery Van Minshew of Gainesville, FL; several nieces and nephews.
